5 Hidden Gems on the UK Coast

Restaurants, beaches, bars, walks… the British coastline is full of hidden gems waiting to be uncovered. For those who love undisturbed landscapes and quieter, more secluded spots, these locations will be perfect for your next escape.

 1. Restaurants

Dylan’s, Criccieth, Gwynedd North Wales - overlooking Criccieth castle and the rest of town, this lovely restaurant is a must for anyone visiting the area. Dylan’s serves delicious fresh seafood, burgers, steaks and lots more. You might even spot a few dolphins while you dine!

The Ship Inn, Alnwick, Northumberland - tucked away on the Northumberland coastline, this tasteful pub is great for a lovely lunch. Stop and explore the bay and after hours of fun in the sand, sit back, relax and enjoy some pub grub at The Ship Inn.

2. Beaches

Diggory’s Island Sand, Cornwall - if trying to access by land, this beach is difficult to get to but it’s definitely worth the trip. This tranquil bay is the perfect escape. Take a break from the waves and enjoy the calm surroundings.

Sandwood Bay, Scotland - for those travelling more north of the UK, you must stop off and visit Sandwood Bay, it’s breathtaking. The landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, which makes for a calming, serene break.

The Watering Hole, Cornwall - enjoy live music whilst sipping on sundowners after a long day of sailing. If you’re after more of a party, time your visit for when the Watering Hole is hosting one of their festivals.It’s a great laugh and an opportunity for you to meet fellow holidayers.

4. Short Walks

Prawle Point, Devon - for a beautiful scenic route, this three mile walk around the headland makes for some perfect photo opportunities! It’s a great place to stop for quick activity to get you out and about.

5. Long Walks

Whitehaven, Cumbria - for something a little more challenging, Whitehaven is a tougher longer walk. This seven mile route takes around four hours to complete but it’s so rewarding once you clock eyes on the incredible, expansive views.
