Sailing is a longstanding sport at the Olympic games, appearing every year since 1904, featuring a variety of sailing disciplines including traditional dinghies, such as the Laser, 470 and Finn, windsurfing, twin-trapeze skiffs for men and women and now foiling catamarans.

The first couple of weeks in August will see the 134th Abersoch Regatta Week. This is a great week for all the family. The Regatta donates all funds raised to the local RNLI, Air Ambulance, local schools and the local surf club. There will be a mix of events to take part in, including a golf competition, best dressed beach hut competition and a raft race.
Dartmouth Royal Regatta - 27th - 29th August

Southport 24 Hour Race - 19th - 20th September
The Southport 24 Hour Race is a national endurance race for sailing dinghies organised by the West Lancashire Yacht Club. It’s an opportunity for all dinghy sailors to compete for serious trophies, network with other sailing enthusiasts and enjoy the excellent hospitality provided.
Southampton Sailing Week sees some 600 sailors and 60 yachts compete for 6 competitive cups. Races are held across three days, previous cups have included the City Cup, the Women’s Cup and the Property Cup. Each day of the regatta starts with breakfast and finishes with drinks and refreshments at the 5* Harbour Hotel.
Each year the British Marine Regatta sets sail for an exclusive event on the Solent. It's the perfect opportunity to network with other marine professionals, while helping raise money for charity.
